At MWC Barcelona 2026, ASR Technology unveiled a series of new chip platforms alongside a wide range of partner devices, showcasing its latest innovations in cellular connectivity, intelligent computing, on-device AI, and multi-scenario terminal applications. Reflecting the accelerating convergence of mobile communications and intelligent computing, ASR presented a comprehensive “full-chip portfolio” supported by an ecosystem-driven showcase. The exhibition highlighted the company’s system-level innovation strategy—from connectivity capabilities to edge intelligence, and from chip products to platform-based solutions—helping accelerate the deployment of next-generation smart devices and digital industry applications.
From Chips to Devices: Ecosystem Collaboration Accelerates Deployment
Alongside its chip platforms, ASR partnered
with a broad ecosystem of customers and partners to showcase a wide range of
end devices powered by ASR chips. The exhibition featured three main areas:
smart devices, smart wearables, and IoT devices.
The smart devices zone highlighted ASR’s
progress in intelligent SoC development. Leveraging years of expertise in
cellular communications, multimedia processing, and in-house IP design, ASR
intelligent SoCs have already been deployed across a diverse range of products,
including smartphones, tablets, in-vehicle infotainment systems, smart
rear-view mirrors, smart scanning pens, AI learning devices, AI cameras, and
smart POS terminals.
ASR has established a clear roadmap for its
intelligent SoC portfolio, spanning 4G quad-core platforms, 4G octa-core
platforms, and 5G RedCap + Android intelligent SoCs. The company’s first 4G
quad-core intelligent SoC, ASR8601, has shipped millions of units to date.
Meanwhile, the ASR8661 and ASR8662 4G octa-core SoCs have entered mass
production and are gaining traction in smartphones, tablets, and in-vehicle
smart terminals. At MWC 2026, a smartphone powered by the ASR8861 made its
public debut, demonstrating enhanced capabilities in edge AI, power efficiency,
and multimedia performance.

The smart wearables
zone featured nearly 20 wearable devices built on ASR chip platforms, including
smartwatches for children, adults, health monitoring, and sports applications,
as well as smart glasses and pendant-style AI voice assistants. These products
cover wearable solutions based on both ASR RTOS and Android operating systems.
The exhibition
included smartwatch products from brands such as Philips, Lenovo, and Coolpad,
powered by ASR intelligent SoCs. Newly showcased devices also included Xiaomi
Xiaoxun and 360 children’s smartwatches based on ASR RedCap wearable chip
platforms, as well as smartwatches powered by ASR RedCap + Android solutions.
With reliable connectivity, low power consumption, and a continuously expanding
product lineup, ASR wearable solutions have gained recognition from nearly 100
global device brands, with market adoption continuing to grow.
The IoT devices zone
highlighted ASR’s long-standing technological expertise and large-scale
deployment in the cellular IoT market. The showcased products covered a wide
variety of device types, including CPE, MiFi, in-vehicle T-Box, trackers, POS
terminals, IPC cameras, and AI toys.
According to data from
TSR, ASR Technology has ranked No.1 in global market share for Cat.1 bis chips
for two consecutive years. By 2025, cumulative shipments of ASR’s 4G Cat.1
platforms had exceeded 600 million units, enabling mature and scalable
deployments across scenarios such as CPE, MiFi, payment terminals, and industry
data collection devices.
Meanwhile, ASR’s Cat.4
platform continues to lead in mobile broadband and automotive connectivity
segments, with solutions already adopted in several joint-venture vehicle
models. On the 5G front, the ASR1901 5G NR chip platform has entered large-scale
commercial deployment, particularly in CPE and other MBB devices. In parallel,
5G RedCap solutions are rapidly expanding into applications including CPE,
MiFi, IPC cameras, and power grid DTUs, further enriching the ecosystem for
lightweight 5G connectivity.
Connecting Intelligence and Applications Through
Edge–Cloud Collaboration
A key highlight of the
showcase was the diverse range of smart devices built on ASR intelligent SoC
platforms, alongside AI toys and interactive devices powered by ASR RTOS chip
platforms. Leveraging reliable cellular connectivity and efficient
collaboration between edge computing and cloud services, these devices deliver
lower latency and higher reliability in scenarios such as voice interaction,
content distribution, and remote services.
These demonstrations
reflect ASR’s vision of extending communication technology beyond basic
connectivity—toward the integrated value of “connectivity + intelligence +
applications.”
As the industry moves
toward 5G Advanced and the rapid expansion of intelligent terminals, ASR
Technology will continue to focus on the integration of cellular connectivity,
intelligent computing, and edge AI. By strengthening edge–cloud collaboration
and working closely with global ecosystem partners, the company aims to
accelerate the transition of technologies from platforms to products and from
capabilities to real-world applications, unlocking new opportunities for
intelligent connectivity worldwide.
